on Tuesday November 17 from 6:00-8:00PM
Join us for a "Serata Italiana," an Evening in Italy, at Taste in Provo on Tuesday, November 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. We will enjoy handmade Italian pasta, a balsamic tasting and gelato from the valley's best: Mástra Italian Bakery & Bistro, Taste and Vinci Gelato. The evening will be accompanied by world-renowned opera singers Shea Owens and Madison Leonard and a visual tour of the regions of Italy throughout the year.

‍Taste117 is an artisanal bean-to-bar chocolate factory, tasting boutique, and cozy sit-down café located in downtown Provo. They offer a curated selection of food experiences including afternoon tea, tasting classes and tours of their award-winning cacao production.

‍Mástra Bakery & Bistro in American Fork offers some of the most authentic Italian comfort food and artisanal baked goods outside Italy: handmade pastas, Ligurian and Roman recipes, focaccia and more, created by owner and master baker Jonathan Cagnacci from Genova, Italy.

‍Vinci Gelato was started by Jesse Cowden, who fell in love with gelato during his LDS mission to Rome. He trained under the top Gelataio in the US, uses ingredients imported directly from Italy and crafts gelato using the same style of machine featured at the Gelato World Cup.

‍Shea Owens & Madison Leonard are professional opera singers.

Madison has sung lead roles in the past year with the NY Metropolitan Opera (Carmen) as well as lead roles in operas in Dallas, Seattle, Kansas City, Austin, Atlanta and San Antonio. She has also soloed with the Tabernacle Choir and numerous renowned orchestras.

Shea is Director of Opera at BYU and has sung recently with the Tabernacle Choir, Utah Symphony and Florida Symphony, and sung lead roles with companies in Paris, St. Gallen, and Geneva. At BYU, Shea organizes, trains and directs students in their opera season.

Your hosts: Elliott & Carrie Nelson lived 15 years in Rome, Paris, Munich, Basel, and The Hague as expats, and have traveled to Italy many times over the past 46 years since Elliott's mission to Italy (1978 to 1980). They lead curated small group tours to Europe, New England and Asia/Pacific. www.altavia.tours
